New Kent County Voter Information

OFFICIAL VOTING INFORMATION - NEW KENT COUNTY

The Constitution of Virginia requires that you be registered
in the precinct in which you live in order to be qualified to vote.

The New Kent County Voter Registration Office located in the Old Courthouse Building, 12003 New Kent Hwy., is open Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The office observes official county holidays.

Application for voter registration may be made in person or by mail. Mail-in voter registration applications are available at the Heritage Library in Providence Forge and at the County Administration Building in New Kent. Voter Registration is also available at all DMV offices and at Public Assistance Agencies.

Upcoming elections scheduled for 2012:
Republican Primary March 6, 2012 (Must be registered by February 13, 2012 by 5:00 p.m.)
Primary June 12, 2012 *IF HELD (Must be registered by May 21, 2012 by 5:00 p.m.) for all other offices scheduled for November (along with President)
US Senator and US Representative
General Election November 6, 2012 (Must be registered by
October 15, 2012 by 5:00 p.m.)

 

ABSENTEE BALLOT DEADLINE

Absentee Voting is available now in our office for the March 6, 2012 Republican Primary.  The New Kent County Voter Registration Office, located at 12003 New Kent Hwy., is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  The last for Absentee applications to be received by mail is Tuesday, February 28, 2012.  In person voting is available in our office until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012.  The Office is only open the Saturday preceding any Primary Election (§ 24.2-701 and § 24.2-703).
